•ON HOLD The Naturalist’s Notebook Maine, a fun-for-all-ages exploratorium/shop in Seal Harbor next to Acadia National Park, is closed for the foreseeable future because of a recent change of ownership of the building. (Whether it will ever open again, there or elsewhere, remains in doubt.) In case you haven’t visited it in the past, the Notebook has been a beloved, Best of New England destination (Yankee Magazine) since launching in July 2009. Here’s a description: “Wonderful for all ages. Interactive, educational exhibits guide you through the 13.8-billion-year history of the universe, with rooms featuring biodiversity hotspots, the forests of Maine, the ocean, the Mesozoic era, and even your BRAIN (to name a few)! Find fun drawing activities and puzzles in each room, as well as books and themed merchandise to facilitate learning for ALL ages.”
